1770's - 1790's BRITISH CARBINE
|
1770's Sergeants Carbine
Loyalist Arms, is pleased to introduce our
new 1770's Sergeants carbine.
These carbines, were popular for officers in the British forces during
the American Revolution and
beyond in both America and Europe.
They were especially
prized by the light infantry units, rangers, and the artillery units, who
required a light musket that was easier
to handle, much like a fusil. Many
officers had their own fusils supplied by independant gun builders at home,
rather than
have to lug around a regular issue full size musket.
The barrel
is 39" long, and is available in either 62 or 66 cal.
The steel rammer and sling swivels are standard features.
Flashguard is available for an additonal cost of $6.20 CDN / $4.00 US, and must be requested.

The above
picture is a close up of the breech and wrist area, showing the oval thumb piece, for the 1770's version.
Has proper ordinance marks on breech & barrel.
The 1770's version has "WILLETS / 1762" stamped on the tail of the lock plate.
The above
picture shows a rear angle shot, which shows the nice lines of the fusil /
carbine.
All hardware
is basically down sized Brown Bess furniture, just like the originals.
These guns
are very slim and graceful & handle very well, and are a pleasure to fire.
Sideplate on the 1770's version is very similar to the later Baker rifle.(shown here).
Has the correct beaver tail relief carving around the tang.
We ship anywhere. Please inquire for rates.
Touch holes are drilled unless customer requests they not be done.
